Let Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon Create the Perfect Haircut for Your Face Shape (Part 3 of 3)

Filed under: Style and Trends — Admin @ 7:30 am

Bellevue salonContinued from: “Let Bellevue Salon Create the Perfect Haircut for Your Face Shape Part 2″

In Part 1 and Part 2 of this article series, we focused on how to identify your face shape and some techniques that Salon hair stylists use to create the illusion of the perfect, oval face shape if you aren’t blessed with that face shape and instead have a round, square, or oblong face.

In this article, we’ll take a look at what Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylists can do for those of you who have heart, triangle, and diamond face shapes.

Heart Shape

Because heart-shaped faces have a broad forehead and narrow chin, your Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylist can create the illusion of an oval shape by narrowing the forehead and adding volume around the jaw and chin. Shoulder- or longer length hair styles that are textured, layered, or flare out work well.  If you like bangs, keep them swept to the side. Be sure your hair is shoulder length or longer if you want hair on the top of the head.

Triangle Shape

The triangle face shape is narrow at the forehead and broad at the chin; therefore, your Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylist will create an oval shape by adding width at the forehead and around the temples. A layered look is the best way to go, especially when the hair flares around the forehead and temples and tapers toward the jaw line. As a result, shorter hair cuts are beste suited for this face shape.

Diamond Shape

Creating the illusion of an oval with a diamond face shape is going to involve widening the narrow forehead, narrowing the wide cheeks, and adding width to the narrow jaw line. Your Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylist can easily achieve this by adding straight bangs across the forehead to broaden it, keeping the hair chin length to create a “bob” style or shoulder length, with the hair flaring out at the sides to broaden the jaw line.

As you can see, it really doesn’t matter what kind of face shape you have. Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylists know exactly what to do to create the perfect style and haircut for your uniquely beautiful face. Give us a call today at (425) 822-6040to schedule an appointment.

Let Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon Create the Perfect Haircut for Your Face Shape (Part 2 of 3)

Bellvue SalonContinued from: “Let Bellevue Salon Create the Perfect Haircut for Your Face Shape (Part 1 of 3)”

In Part 1 of this article, we described seven face shapes and helped you determine which one most closely resembles your face shape.  In this article, we’re going to take a look at how to create the illusion of an oval face shape based on how the hair is cut and styled. Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylists will be able to help you identify your face shape and apply these techniques to create the perfect haircut and style for you.

We haven’t forgotten about those of you with perfectly shaped oval faces. It’s just that, with your face shape, just about any haircut and style will work. Short, medium, or long – whatever length you choose to wear your hair doesn’t matter. Lucky you!

If you have one of the six other face shapes, Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylists will use some of the following techniques to cut and style your hair.

Round Shape

Because this face shape tends to have a round chin and hairline, making the face look short, your Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylist will provide the illusion of length by keeping the cut short, adding layers on top, and keeping the sides of your hair flat. If you want a longer cut, it’s essential that the sides are kept as flat as possible to avoid making your face appear wider.

Square shape

Another “short” face shape, the square shaped face needs a haircut and style that’s going to lengthen the face.  It also needs a style that will “soften” the square jaw line. Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylists achieve these effects by layering the hair around the square forehead and jaw line to create the illusion of an oval. Height at the top of the head will also elongate the face. This face shape works well with short- to medium-length hair.

Rectangular shape

Similar to the square-shaped face, the rectangular or oblong face shape differs in that the sides of the face are long. Your Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylist’s goal, then, will be to “shorten” the face by adding width to the sides. Adding width to the face can be accomplished with a chin- or shoulder-length haircut s that either turn under or flare out at the sides. Longer hair air that is layered, wavy, or otherwise textured will add volume to the face.

Read Part 3 of “Let Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon Create the Perfect Haircut for Your Face Shape” this series to find out how to cut and style hair for the heart, triangle, and diamond face shapes.

Let Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylists give you the perfect cut and style that is perfect for your face shape.  Call for an appointment today at (425) 822-6040.

Let Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon Create the Perfect Haircut for Your Face Shape (Part 1 of 3)

Belleview SalonThe Experts at Bellevue Salon explain how your face shape relates to the best hair style for you!

The next time you visit and ask your hair stylist to create your favorite celebrity’s hair style, don’t be surprised if s/he declines. The best haircut for you is not necessarily the one worn by your favorite celeb. Why? Because the haircut that’s perfect for you is going to be determined by the shape of your face, and unless your favorite celebrity has the same face shape as you, copying her haircut may prove to be an expensive mistake.

No matter how well the haircut is executed, if it doesn’t suit your face shape, it’s not going to look good on you. Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylists are trained to analyze the shape of your face and recommend a hair style that highlights your best features and minimizes the less pleasing ones. The result is a haircut that is not only stylish but flattering, too.

The Perfect Face Shape – Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon

Most hair stylists agree that the oval shape is the best face shape to have. It is perfectly proportioned, with the length of the face 1.5 times longer than its width and the forehead the same or a bit wider than the jaw. Individuals with oval-shaped faces are blessed with the ability to wear just about any haircut or style imaginable.

If you don’t have an oval–shaped face, don’t despair. Your Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylist knows exactly what to do to give you a haircut that will create the illusion of an oval-shaped face.

Determining Your Face Shape

It’s easy to figure out which face shape you have. Read the descriptions below; then look in a mirror to determine which one is the best match your face shape. Be sure to pull your hair away from your forehead and ears in order to see all of your face.

You can also measure your face if you are unsure whether it is shaped like an oval.  Using a ruler, measure from the top of your head to the bottom of your chin and then from one side of the widest part of the face to the other. If the length is 1.5 times longer than the width, and the chin and forehead are close to the same width, then you are blessed with an oval-shaped face.

If you still aren’t sure, your Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon hair stylist will be more than happy to do a complete face-shape analysis for you.

Six More Face Shapes

In addition to the oval shape, there are six more face shapes. As you read the description, think of the geometric shape each one describes to get a better feel for what this face shape looks like.  Then click the link to find out the types of haircuts that work best with each one.

• Round shape.  The face is circular in shape; the chin is round, and the length of the face is equal to its width.
• Square shape.  Square faces have a strong, square jaw line; the forehead is also square, creating a short, squat face.
• Rectangular shape.  Also called “oblong,” this face shape is long and narrow, with a long cheek line and square jaw and hair lines.
• Heart shape. This face shape has a wide forehead and narrow jaw line, similar to a heart or inverted triangle.
• Triangle shape. The opposite of the heart shape, the triangle- or pear-shaped face is wide at the jaw line and narrow at the forehead, with a round chin.
• Diamond shape. Finally, diamond-shaped faces are wide at the cheeks, which are typically high, and narrow at the forehead and chin.

You can trust the hair stylists at Bella Sirena Bellevue Salon to recommend a haircut and style that are perfect for your face shape. Call for an appointment today at (425) 822-6040.
